    Overview

    The Crew Scheduling Supervisor provides guidance and work direction to Crew Schedulers to ensure the compliance of the crews’ schedule and ensure flights are properly staffed according to Company and FAA government regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the daily transactions for the Crew Scheduling team as well as provide work direction and guidance on critical decisions to the Crew Scheduling team.
    • Train and develop Crew Schedulers, ensuring they are trained for their duties and responsibilities. In addition, identify top performers and establish career paths.
    • Work with Manager to oversee employees’ job performance to better identify the need for recognition or developmental support as necessary.
    • Field concerns and complaints by crewmembers, crew schedulers, and ALPA and escalate as necessary.
    • Build and maintain a collaborative and engaged environment within the workgroup by providing positive, encouraging and informative input and feedback.
    • Communicate with In-Flight, Flight Ops, Training, Planning, Dispatch, Maintenance, HR, and Crew Pay departments.
    • Monitor all crew legalities in regard to block, rest and duty.
    • Keep operations posted of any delays, cancellations, and swaps and make the final call on delays, cancellations, junior-manning, and downgrades.
    • Communicate schedule changes with Base Managers and Crew Pay Analysts.  
    • Update crew hotels as to our room requirements.
    • Ensure the best utilization of crewmembers.
    • Check rudder limited requests from maintenance.
    • Work the desk and answers phones as needed.
    • Provide daily turnovers to the next shift, the Scheduling Manager, and other members of the management team.
    • Verify trips are awarded according to the contract, bids, and seniority.
    • Monitor crew post to ensure times are being updated. Monitor the unposted flight legs to ensure accurate block times.
    • Update all crewmember TSA/APIS information as it changes.
    • List and monitor all positive space travel for crewmembers.
    • Update and monitor all changes to crewmember availability and schedules that are initiated by HR (for example, FMLA, STD, etc.)
    • Computer work, in a typical office environment, sitting for the majority of the day.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and related experience
    • 2 years of experience in Crew Scheduling or equivalent experience
    • 1 year of experience providing work direction in a leader role, including motivating and mentoring employees
    • 1 year of supervisor experience preferred
    • Reliable and self-motivated
    • Analytical, interpretive and organizational skills
    • Ability to multi task efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines
    • Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and able to work with all levels of an organization
    • PC proficient in Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Experience with CrewTrac preferred
    • Repetitive motion such as typing and phone work.
    • Minimal physical exertion such as: pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and light lifting of boxes, bags, files, and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 lbs.
    • Able to work additional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
    • Up to 10% travel as needed.
